The CSA Mine is located in Cobar NSW and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.
The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines.
Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, CSA Mine directly employs over 500 people including contractors.
Position Overview:
- We are currently looking for Nippers to join the team.
- Be advised this is a residential only position, requiring relocation to Cobar NSW.
- These roles require applicants to perform physically demanding work, and work in a hot and dirty environment.

- These are entry level positions with no direct mining experience necessary, as full training will be provided to the successful applicants.
- However, applicants with labouring and trade assisting backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Key Duties:
- Work offside our heavy machinery installing bolts and mesh.
- Communication of accurate and timely information to Mine Control and Cross Shift .
- Delivery, pick up and the transport of heavy mining consumables.
- Safe operation of plant and equipment ensuring all housekeeping is kept to a high standard.
- Assistance with underground rehabilitation works including manual handling, machinery operation, repairs and maintenance.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Australian Manual Driver’s Licence (minimum P2).
- Previous experience in a labour-intensive or physical role, such as farming, trades or labouring.
- A drive to learn all there is to learn about mining and progress your career at CSA Mine.
- Committed to a site-specific roster working both days and nights.
Conditions:
This is a residential only position and is offered on 7/7 roster (Days and Nights). You will be required to move to Cobar NSW if you are successful for this position, however paid relocation assistance is provided to assist the successful applicant to source their own accommodation locally. CSA also provides Pool & Gym Reimbursements to our employees and their dependents.
Location:
Located an eight-hour drive to Sydney, nine-hour drive to Melbourne, and a quick three-hour drive to Dubbo, Cobar is a fascinating town rich in mining heritage and natural attractions. Entertainment options include restaurants, pubs, and clubs for dining out. You will be kept busy with a bowling and golf club, rugby and rugby league teams, race club, pony club, Olympic size swimming pool, gym – and more! The town boasts beautiful parks, two reservoirs, picnic areas and playgrounds. The youth club 'Youthie' is a vibrant children’s hub with a games room, gym and weights room, squash courts, sauna, indoor stadium, outdoor basketball court and a skate park. The town also has excellent educational and childcare facilities available.
